Hope you get it straightened out. C'mon back and let us know what happens and earn some rep points. It's great when I can make a mental note to the "fixed" list and help others. Good luck.

NOT!

Unhappy Need help! Starter problem

So I was installing a stereo in my truck and had to unhook the battery clamp, took it off then put it back on and my truck wouldn't start. I got scared and unhooked everything I changed and put it back to stock. I turn the key and have battery power, all the dash lights come on. Everything normal but it won't turn over. I got the same click but I don't understand why It would randomly not work. I called 6 different mechanics and read forums all day and tried every thing I saw. Still couldn't get it going. No one can figure it out. Tried jumping the starter and that never worked either. Plugged in a code reader and it said no code. But when I turn the ignition on the engine light flashes and there is a symbol that's 2 lines with a electric symbol between them. HELP PLEASE

Jackson, that is the longest thread I have ever read, and I'm glad your "techs" at the dealer were finally instructed how to take a serious interest and repair your truck. They sound like hacks to me.

Meanwhile... the cash "payment" they gave you is nice.... but, I believe that the number of "cycles" they've put on your starter demands that they also install an entirely NEW starter motor for you. In testing for your problem, they have placed so many unnecessary "cycles" on your starter that they have doubtlessly reduced it's service life considerably. (Somewhere between 60-180 unnecessary cycles as far as I can guess.)

Kudos to you for your patience with them.

I am now having the same problem and it is getting worse. My truck will start with a boost even though I have a brand new battery. Did any of you guys try boosting? And does anyone have any idea why it should start with a boost but not off a fully charged battery? Thanks for any help or advice you can give me
