From what warlock said it should be fixed and I honestly hope it is. Good luck to you.
Ya no gas in the tank, and not only that, they lost the key to my locking gas cap. Who seperates their gas key from their switch key? Are you kidding me?! I was so mad.
Wife had a sleep study for upcoming surgery 80 miles away in Bangor at 8pm. I go to gas up at 6pm ...NO KEY! So I call my dealer and of course my service dept closes at 5. The General Manager helps me look all over the desks in the service dept. He then tries to call his service advisor that took my truck home. His number is wrong, Ummmm time for a memo to get employee phone numbers updated? ya..Service manager can't reach him either when the GM calls him. So hour later after they tell me they got no loaners, no key, this guy from their recon dept. shows up an in 2 seconds pulls up behind my cap, wiggles it a bit turns it and pops it right off. Turns to me and says never buy those they are a waste of money. Oh man! He grabs a cap off the lot and puts it on my truck and I am off flying with the sleep study place saying get there by 9 and they can do it. PHEW!
I go in today and start in on them about the key, and the guy that took my truck home says I never gassed it up. The other service advisor says, dont look at me, I never drove it. Service Manager says go buy another one, bring me the slip and I will reimburse your cost. Are you kidding me, really?! SOmebody drove it 159 miles, somebody had to gas it up because it had 1/4 tank when I dropped it off the week before, and it had about 1/4 tank when I picked it up.
Really first time I have had to do any reaming there for something that they did but it got done.

Hmmm. I've never actually used a locking gas cap before so who knew! That is beside the point. No one would own up to having to put gas into it? Something as simple as returning a key and admiring they did a lot more than just test the starter isn't that hard.

By the way 159 miles is far enough to get me all the way to Raleigh and back some. Basically over three hours of driving.

Hope your truck is fixed either way but man!...Screw that dealership.

Ya they did screw up Arth. I am all about forgiveness, but i expect a little bit of compensation if its a major screw up. I think I will keep their filler cap off the other truck.
I am willing to bet that missing gas cap is gonna wreak havoc there ...lol

Thanks Asur, and all the supporters of my dilemma. I am hoping this is over, truck seems to be fine so far and it does seem to start dif. i can't put my finger on it, if it is delay time being less when you roll the key or what, but it just feels dif. Maybe my confidence level that it is gonna start has improved. We will see. On that note, I am off to bed, Long day tomorrow.

I'm new to this forum. In fact, this is my very first post. Your issue interests me because I'm having the same problem with my truck. It's brand new, 9600K miles and it just started doing the click, no start that youve experienced. I'm about to take it to the dealership in about a day or two. Any news on your rig? I'm worried I'll get the same hassle...

It turned out that I do not have the click issue anymore when I try to start the truck now. They put in the following parts and it solved it I believe.
1 ea. - 5170877af transmission solenoid pack, 1 ea. - a43-4L (extra ground added), and that took care of it up to now. BUT...now I have a new problem I need to take it to Service tomorrow ro have it put on the computer and see what is going on.
When I put it in park sometimes now, it will light up all the gear indicators and the Reverse R will be in red, thus indicating it is in reverse when it is actually in Park. Ya...go figure.
Then after I called them and indicated this issue I was headed to go school clothes shopping for my Grandson when it started running like crap. Hitching and hesitating, and shiftin really goofy (of course the service dept was already closed). So i parked it at Walmart went in and got some shopping done, all the while stewing about my truck again. I go out and look and my exhaust pipes at the rear of my truck are saturated with what looks like black watery/carbon type substance. I am a really unhappy camper again. I will be at the Dealer in the morning when they open. Stay tuned for more problems I guess. I am really getting fed up with this truck. I am getting wore out on it. I will try to scan and post the work orders so you can see what was done, but not sure it will work well. We see in few minutes.

Default Chrysler Case manager

I forgot to mention that Chrysler called a couple days ago and wants to close the case since my truck is starting now. However in light of the new issues I may have to decline closing it yet.
I don't see that a free lifetime warranty will help me since I never keep them more than 4 years at most, and a couple of payments for my troubles don't keep me from being held hostage by this fri**in truck. I will be posting tomorrow once I have talked to some people.

Ok, here is my plan. I am going to run my truck to the wifes dr appt and bring the truck in tomorrow for diagnostics and see what it does today in regards to the engine chuggin etc, I want to make sure it was not a gas issue. I put dry gas in it and topped it off and going to run the 150 mile round trip and see what it does. Worse case scenario, I get stranded and they have to tow it. Best case scenario, bad gas and it comes out of it. WIll see.
