It would be nice to have a 74 and 90. It is funny for me to see both of mine in driveway together I never thought that would happen! But as soon as dad sed it was mine I snaped it up.

Default chritsmas list for santa

Well going over rebuild for truck and might need som input. This is what I want so far for this little project.
Dule exhst with headders
I'm thinking about msd's atomic EFI
New intake, cam with roller lifters and rockers.
Ditch timeing chain for quiet gear setup.
Now this is the big question. I wt a mild cam someting good from 1000 to 4000 rpm. Driveability is key. What duration would be good. There will be no stall on this not looking to burn pavement up. Just more pull and good throttle responce a small lope won't hurt ether want it to be a fun turn key street leagal toy.

Default Great point

You make a great point and the more people restor our first gen vehicles the better it is for all of us. I have 2 1stgens at this time 1989 1500 and 1992 w350. I also have a 2011 Ram 1500 Sport. With the Hemi. I love the truck but my passion is my oldies.
Oldies rule.

I keep telling myself that I'm putting the polish away, but then I find another one and just can't leave it like that.

I would look around for a pu with fi and harness installed. then you have everthing you need for the swap and not drag out project by searching out parts piece by pieace and the cost adds up.
I am on a fixed income so cost is important to me.

Well I know what a fixed income is. That is if broke can be called a fixed income. For now I'm working with what I have on the truck or can scrap up from the farm that my dad owns. But that's tugher then it used to be sence dad cleaned up and had my donor towed away before he gave me the old goat to toy with. Oh well that's life. And I was going to look for a donor with efi. But the atomic that I was looking into looks more like a retro carb with less wires and uses a spred boar intake. Still my choice of intake carb or not.

Also as far as draging a project out I don't mind I will gather money together get all patrs when I can. But for now its driveable, sometimes dependable when the mood strikes (it is after all a grumpy old goat) but leagal till 2014 and fun to drive and funner the more I tinker and solve little issues I have with it.

Wow have I ever been missing out on this thread! Cool truck man, sure brings back memories! I still kick myself for selling my '81 D150 Custom. All I have left of it is the badge from the drive's side fender.
