Hi ya'll. I picked up this ride a few months back and and wanted to throw some pics up to help with anyone deciding how to do their own trucks.
Factory SRT 22x10 wheels and 285/45/22 tires and no rub on the wheel wells. On city streets however, the front wheels will hit the inside well on certain dips and has rubbed thru to some metal which really isn't safe
The rear axle strikes the frame on occasion as well, especially with any load in the bed.
The Wheel well lips (?) have been cut in the back, when I throw stuff in the bed and the tire hides some, there is only a slight space between rubber and outer wheel well, but it does not rub amazingly.
There is noticeable camber on the front wheels, but after about 5000 miles there is no abnormal wear on the inside of the tires.
I can put air into the rear shocks via an air compressor with a hose. The valve is under the tail gate next to the opening for the tire lowering thing. At full, the rear lifts close to 2 inches and firms everything up nicely.
The whole truck got new paint, including bumpers and door handles, and mirrors from a newer model. I also stripped the badges.
Here's where I need your guys help!
1. How can I keep the rear axle and frame from hitting each other? some kind of cushion??
2. Is this a "Sport" model? I have a black vinyl interior which is nice, but manual windows.
3. How can I protect my front tires from rubbing thru the inner plastic well and hitting the metal behind it? Is there a simple way to firm it up?
Thanks in advance for your help, if anyone has any questions about the setup or how it rides please feel free to ask.
