Default What CAI?

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4.7l, I am making a Xmas list and I want to get a CAI for the truck but not sure on which one. At first I was looking at a Volant, but then was talking to a buddy (another memeber on here) and he told me S&B are really good, but sadly they do not have one out yet for the truck since they discounted the older one. I emailed them a couple weeks ago asking about any updates with the newer one coming out and they said they have put it on hold. So I emailed yesterday asking if they know a around about time when it will be in production, no response yet though.

So my question for you is what CAI would you recommend? Do you think I should wait for S&B? Or get something else? I don't want anything crappy.

S&B Intakes already have a CAI for your model.

Okay I just saw that it was discontinued and waiting on the 75-5041 model.

Apologies.

I say wait.

So you think S&B is better than volant or any other brands?

You're asking the wrong person as I am very biased towards S&B Intakes as I think they're the finest on the market.

I've got a Volant in my '04 with the Donaldson Dry Filter and love it!

I purchased a K&N CAI. I personally don't like how much noise it makes when starting the truck. I frequently question myself, if it was worth it. Only benefit I can say is I don't have to replace air filters, I husk clean and re-use.

Do you think the Volant with the fog light scoop produce more HP than the others that just sit under the hood? I in market for a CAI too, and have a hard time deciding with all the opinions on here.

Your CAI shouldn't be making any noise at start up.

What noise are you speaking of?
