Default Trailer Breaks

So Id like to talk about and look at where people mounted any aftermarket trailer break controllers. I cut on of the pockets to put mine in but I cant seem to get it far enough in so I dont hit it with my knee. So if any one has a cool spot they put theirs / or a bad spot like mine lets here them. Also any one have a preference to their model, mine works great was cheep and has a lot of great functions

Subscribing to this. I am using the same brake controller and I keep hitting my knee as well.
I am wondering if you just buy the bezel and take out the pocket if it would not fit better?

The problem for me is not how to install it, that is done.
My problem is finding a place where I don't hit my knee getting in and out of the truck.
Since I have the shift console my space is limited.

I used the one from Mopar, it's plug and play. If you want it to show in the EVIC the dealer has to flash the computer. Picked it up online for $116.00 including the bezel. 15 mins to install.

How about posting the link to where you found the Mopar brake controller for $115? All I've found so far is $225+.

Make sure you have the 2 connectors taped up to the steering wheel column under the dash.

X2. I've been towing for 25+ years and it's the best controller I've ever used. It is proportional to the truck brakes, meaning if you only use about 50% of the trucks braking power, that's all the controller sends out. Jam the brakes hard and it will too. It also enables the trailer anti-sway system which applies brakes to individual wheels to take trailer sway out. I towed my 99 2500hd to Pennsylvania with my 2011 1500 and it handled the trailer just fine. Lot of four lane and back country two lane roads.

It is definately the way to go, and you won't hit your knee on it.

I actually got mine on ebay from a dealer in kalifornia because the dealer here was unaware of a retrofit kit. But most of the dealers should have that figured out by now.
