Default Ram rt stall converter ?

Is there a way I can put this in my express and still keep factory warranty. Since the trucks power train is about the same except for gears. I already have 3.92 gears with LSD . And what kind if difference would it do for quarter mile and towing and such thanks

I would just go with an aftermarket stall. The RT converter is better than nothing, but you can do better with an aftermarket one. If you tow, then I would stick with a 2600 stall. From the outside, a dealership wouldnt be able to tell that the converter wasnt stock, and a 2600 stall isnt high enough to change the normal street ride any. You should be good to go.

You will be fine with a little higher stall if you only tow 4k every now and then. Just remember that the higher stall you get, the higher you will need to rev the engine before the wheels start to turn. I would not go over 2800.

I think the RTs are rated to tow 5k with their stall so you'd prob be ok. Also, I doubt any of the mechs would be able to tell you had a RT t/c installed unless any of the lines, bolts, etc have a factory torque stripe on the threads.

but like hemi450 mentioned, you'd be better off getting a nice billet aftermarker stall (edge or circle-d) with a 2600 rpm stall.

That statement isn't entirely true about a higher stall.....basically your truck will move at any rpm but from a dead stop it will spool up to whatever stall speed you have choosen before locking up. For instance my stall speed is set a 2800-3000rpm, I can take off normal just fine and it will shift through gears like normal well below that set stall speed, pretty much like stock. The difference is if I want to floor it from a dig it will spool up to 3000rpm right from jump street and lock up. You basically get that instant power vs waiting for the rpms to increase until you get into the meat of your power band. Also there's alot of torque management in these trucks and with the POS stock covertor it hinders it performance big time from a dead stop...thats the advantage with the higher stall (just about bypass the low rpm torque management). Yeah but like Hemi450HP an aftermarket stall around 2600rpm will be good for you if you do alot of towing and its gonna be night in day difference compared to the stock torque coverter set at 2300rpm.

BTW your 0-60' times should improve a good amount....maybe up to 1/2 sec off your quarter time as well.

I'll agree with the others. Go aftermarket or don't waste the time/money. The RT converter doesn't compare to aftermarket. And higher stall rpm = more heat generated, which hurts towing.

I'll say though that I'd be comfortable towing 5,000lb with my 2800 stall behind my 4.7L.
