Default Suggestions to Improve Towing MPG

Hey everyone, I did a search but just didn't see what I was looking for so I figured I'd open a thread.

I have a 2010 Larime with a Hemi (4x2). Most of the time I get around 18 mpg either highway, or combined city/highway.

Often I tow a utility trailer (6x12) with either my golf cart, or maybe my motorcycle. The golf cart or bike weigh approximately 700lbs. Unfortunately, when I tow my MPG drops to slightly under 12 mpg. That seems very low given the open utility trailer, and not too heavy load. I've tried towing with the tow/haul function on and off, and it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Any suggestions on how I could improve my fuel mileage (perhaps to something acceptable like 14mpg)? Am I missing something?

I know that my Ram fuel mileage improved the more i drove it

when was the last time that you greased the bearings on the trailer, or checked the brakes for adjustment
it is the little things sometimes
