Default Custom Cai w/scoop

I had a CAI tube laying around off my old 06 ram and so i modified it a little to fit where i wanted it.Went by home depot and got some dryer vent and extend-a-spout.I cut a hole on the passenger side in the plastic piece on the bumper where the tow hooks are on the 4x4 models and hooked everything up.We'll see how it turns out over time, but probaly a temporary thing.I did the same thing back on my 03 and seemed to work pretty good.I wrapped the whole thing with cool wrap tape down to the heat shield over the filter.

nice work man! ive done a close mod to that with my second gen using duct work from Menards. Ive been watching my ambient air intake temp, and with that scoop, the temp really goes down 30 mph and up. actually its about a 20 degree drop in the intake temp.

I would worry about that dryer vent hose, seems like it wouldn't take much for a rock or road debris to puncture it.

The hose is protected on the underside by the air dam.

Yep. Mines behind the grille, but in the event of such a thing happening, its not like the dryer vent is expensive

I did the same thing with my 09 & 12 with reflectix from Home Depot. Its an aluminum encased bubble wrap around the stock intake.
I also wrapped the throttle body to block the heat from the alternator & water jacket underneath the TB. Now you can touch the TB, & its not hot like it was before.

I don't really plan on driving through water that would come up to the bottom of the headlight.
