Young Gun is on a distinguished road
Question What to do to my truck

Hello, i am 17 and have had my 1995 dodge 5.9L cummins for about 7 months now. since i got it i have:
-Turned the p-pump up all the way
-put guages in it(trans temp, boost, and ext. temp)
-put a used, stock, transmission in it(as mine blew up on me)
-put a used, stock, turbo on it
-put a toolbox in it and attached two 5tf. cb antennas and put a cb in

Haven't done much, What i am wondering now is what is the best way to get more power/better performance out of it easily.
i was thinking like a cold air intake maybe?
i am pretty smart mechanically wise but am no mechanic.

Thanks,
TJ

Check out a high ram intake, a cold air intake, a smarty programmer (if they have something for a '95), and look at a 4" or bigger turbo-back exhaust

Electronic controls didn't come out 'till the '98 1/2 24-valve models (I have one) -- the earlier 12-valve engines use a straight mechanical fuel system. And that's a good thing, considering the fact that it costs over $2000 to get a good (computerized) injection pump for the 1998.5-2001 models. The 12-valve engines don't make as much power, but they don't just die on you from an electronics problem either.

You can get the Edge boost elbow for $27 which makes the boost come in sooner & allows it to go a bit higher too -- delays the wastegate opening -- you need more air to go with the additional fuel & smoke out the exhaust is wasted power & fuel mileage both.

The neck on the intake manifold can be replaced with aftermarket (the high ram intake mentioned) which will raise the boost too + it smooths out the flow from the intercooler hose into the intake manifold. And if the factory airbox isn't already "cold air intake" (mine is), getting an aftermarket unit is good & even if the box is ducted to the outside, a K&N air filter always improves airflow -- I just replaced the stock paper filter with a K&N.
