Default Torque Converter

I've got a 3rd gen Ram and looking for a good converter.I really haven't seen or heard of too many people doing it.Anyone done this mod?I bracket race a lot and would like to get out of the hole a bit better.I have 3.55's which I'll change down the road maybe.
I've seen new converters for about $800, not looking on spending that much either.anyone know if another oem converter that'd work and be better than stock?(i.e r/t, srt, srt8)

Edge or Circle D are seems to be popular choices for the 545re. Other options is TCI and 4G R/T oem convertors.

I run a Edge 3400 billet tc.

dline is selling a brand new 3200 Circle D stall (245mm pro stage single disk) for $500
He is also selling a used Edge 3200 Billet TC for $300 but he does recommend to have it sent back to Edge for inspection. Just an FYI.
Not to sure how active he is on this forum though but here is his profile if you are interested.

Surprised you are not able to find much information on 3G/4G's running bigger stalls.

He's not looking because I found plenty of info a couple of months ago when I was making a a decision with a upgraded TC...I would suggest either a circle d or edge standard tc(cost about $500) but if you want a higher quality tc go with circle d because they do have their pro series II/III tc(cost from $850-1050). Also do you tow or is it just purely for racing? If you do tow regularly I wouldn't do more than 2800, more likely a 2600 stall speed. The Pro stage Circle D stall Satin Pumpkin is referring to is a steal and if it were just a track/street truck I would recommend that one as well.

with a qc i would suggest an edge 2600-2800 for a qc. I run it and it works great for me..

I have a ~2,800rpm stall edge billet "street edge" converter and love it. I got it used from thesatinpumpkin, actually.

Edge and Circle D are both good, and both have a lower end, middle, and higher end converter that pretty much mimic each other. The middle is sufficient for most people. Even the lower end ones would be better than stock, though. I may be wrong, but I think the higher end one's mostly just have improved clutches or multiple clutches, which I'd guess is for towing...

FYI if you plain on a twin turbo (maybe supercharger with cams/heads/N20) set up over the 600hp/tq edge doesn't make anything that strong enough for our trucks, Circle D or ATS would be your only options.

I'm pretty sure the "pro edge" converter is rated for 600+ lbft. I'm not sure what it's limit is, or what they can build it to take, but that's what their site says...

Yeah there website says 600 but like I was saying circle d's pro series is well over that (I'm sure ATS TC is probably the same if not better)....Chris from circle d told me I'm sure your tranny will go before the tc because it rated at 1000hp(my single disk Pro II 258mm tc). I'm just saying Circle D's Pro Series TC have been put to the test by 1000hp Chevys all the time here in the Houston Area. I highly doubt well see any 1000hp rams due to our tranny's, even the upgraded ATS trannies aren't all that cracked up to be....so know since in debating because I'm sure a standard billet tc will be more than plenty for this guy.
