I use the Mopar one. I used to use Fram, but like everyone else said, everyone has an opinion, good or bad. I might look into others coming on my next change.

I asked this same question (kind of), see here http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=50036. Anyway as a result I stick exclusively to WIX filters (same as UAP Napa Gold). Just stay away from FRAM.

I'm a bosch & mobil 1 filter guy. I know it's preference but I prefer a synthetic element w/ metal ends over cardboard & paper. It's just the way I see it. Napa gold I heard is made same as the mobil 1.

I agree. Which is why I never had any issues with a Fram filter and whatever brand name oil was on sale at the time. Now that I am running synthetic and going 10,000kms between changes, I am using a K&N filter.

If I put out an internet video showing how I've used Fram filters for almost 30 years without a single issue would you all change your mind?

I'm going to try a K&N for my next oil change. I'm sure it will be fine as well.

The orings can stick, especially if it was the original filter the truck came with. This is a good thread in that we can all see that everyone has a favorite and believes in their own product. I used AMSOIL and their EaO series oil filters. Of course they claim it filters to half a micron or something equally as absurd. I use their 0W-20 (part # ASM) oil and change at factory intervals and have been for years on my other trucks. The result is that there is NO CONCLUSIVE data that suggests AMSOIL is better than Mobil1 or Advanced Auto Parts house brand oil.
I think I may try a test of the worst oil you can think of... the Walmart brand Tech 2000 or something. I have a friend who has a cruzer class car that is doing well and since they are an engine claim class, we will try nything on that motor. I'll get him to change oil and go the rest of this season and then we will have it analyzed. At least its worth some thread conversation!!

The factory does not lubricate the O ring on the oil filters & they over tighten them
ask anyone, including the techs at Dodge service bays

The MOPAR filters are supplied by Sergio Marchionne, he is the Fiat/Chysler parts supplier
he is the guy that decides who makes the products that the Dealerships carry
When you buy oil filters through the dealership, you get them through whoever wins the bids. The outside housing may read MOPAR, you will not know what filter is within that housing, is it the lowest or highest company?
Shell supplies the oil, Pennzoil for gas engines, Rotella for diesels & they will have the contract until at least May 2013
