Default Lift kit problems

Okay I have installed a 2 1/2" lift kit in my 2006 ram, and I am experiencing a vibration in the front end. And all I can think of is the angle of the used cv shafts being out. If I was to buy new cv would that fix the vibration. Or is there something else that I can do?????

sounds like the Dodge "Death Wobble." I've read about it many times, CV joints from waht I recall seem to be the fix, but they're the expensive ones. Like the Kore High angle ones.
Here's what the people who make ReadyLift have to say about the issue.
Quote:
Due to a design issue with Dodge Ram front differential and suspension, some owners may experience a vibration in the front end when in 4x4 mode, or a violent shaking vibration of the front wheels when going over a bump at speed. These two symptoms are often called a "death wobble", but actually appear to be two different problems with the Ram truck.

The 4HI mode vibration is a vibration or shudder that occurs when accelerating in 4x4 high mode. This affects Dodge Ram 1500 non mega cabs; Dodge couldn't discover why their stock trucks would do this for some customers. The solution for Dodge was to state that there is no problem and that all of the new Rams will shudder or shake when in 4x4 high. This symptom appears isolated to 2006-2011 1500 non-Mega Cab model trucks and when in 4-hi mode.

The steering wobble or vibration has to do with the steering/ball joint equipment.
Dodge had released TSBs on this problem - Daimler Technical Service Bulletin # 22-005-06. This affects 1994-2011 Dodge Ram 1500MC/2500/3500 4x4's.
In either case, it has become apparent that raising or lifting the front of the Dodge Ram pickup may amplify these existing OEM problems. In some cases the symptoms exist on non-modified stock vehicles.

It is ReadyLift Suspension's position that if you have installed a lift kit or 66-1090, 66-1030 or 66-1020 leveling kit onto your Dodge Ram truck and experience either of the two symptoms mentioned, you have two options. 1). IMMEDIATELY HAVE THE LEVELING KIT REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE! or 2). Install KORE High Angle CV Joints which will fix the factory issue.

Exactly what Brad ^^^ mentioned above.
No point in buying new CV's/drive shafts. Grab the Kore CV's
Keep in mind they are not cheap.
I think $799 for both?

So, do the 2012s not have this issue? Seems everything I have read seems to cut off the issue on 2011 builds. I am curious if maybe dodge modified the CV joints for the 2012 model.

Not sure, I'm thinking maybe just nobody's updated the stuff. I haven't heard of any big changes.

Okay so I've been doing some thinking and some looking around, if I going to spend over $800 for just the the high angle cvs from kore. Way don't I spend the $1200 on a 6" lift? Iam going to have over $1000 in to my 2" kit. The kit was $100, the front end alignment $180, and now cv shafts at $800. Iam going to put a 6" in. Thanks again Rick
