Maybe I am wrong but I think that any tuner would leave some type of foot print. I remember something about the pcm keeping a record of how many times it has been flashed. Again I could be wrong about this.
My warranty ran out 2 months ago but even before that I wasn't worried about it. Oh and incase it matters the Superchips is 50 state legal so no possible problems with any kind of emissions testing if they read the pcm looking for modification.

Ya, like I said , I dont know any of it to be fact just what Ive read. My dealership seems a little shady so mabe they wouldnt say anything until that big ticket item goes bad. I have the life time power train warranty so Im sure they would look for any reason to get out of paying for somthing major. I would like to give SC a try though cause Ive liked what I have heard about them.

when I had issues in 2007 the dealer either couldn't tell, didn't look or didn't care cause they replaced a piston and a head, and then installed a new long block intake to oil pan since they didn't do the first job right and the engine ate itself.

To the OP! I had the exact experience when I tried the diablo. Ive had the flashpaq for about 2 yrs now and I love it. Recently I ran into a new intune and gave it a shot with the intention of getting a custom tune in the future. I immediately notice the transmission behavior is very similar to stock (which is the reason why I decided to tune the truck in the first place). Another thing I noticed was the exhaust tone completely changed. My exhaust sounded sloppy. I did notice a bit stronger pull at wot with the diablo tune. But not enough to make the switch over from SC.

*im selling the almost new intune for $330 shipped FYI. Includes box and everything as if new.

I was talking to a local performance shop and the dude was saying he's put custom tunes on a Superchip before.. Not sure if his eyes are brown or not though..
