Default Help! not sure which magnaflow I want

So I am looking at 3 different options (down from 10) for replacing my current flowmaster delta 50s and i'm not really sure which way to go. I have been trying to figure this out for very long time and should finally be be able to get something done next weekend. I have checked all the sound clips and videos I can find of these and their stainless counter parts, I have even calculated the total internal volume of each muffler to figure out how much difference there was between them.

Looking at the these options

DI/DO 5"x8"x18" 12468
DI/DO 5"x11"x22" 12568
Two 4"x9"x18" 11266

I already have an X pipe so the X in the first two is redundant and may change the tone a little. I do have stock cats and Edelblock mid length headers.

The issue I have is the 18" may be too loud after breakin since I have no resonators and run full tailpipes, the 22" may be too quiet, the two mufflers would probably be the easiest install since they are about the same size as the flows I have now but the pair of them have more total internal volume than the 22".

Not that I drive a lot of freeway but 65-75 is 2200-2500 rpm (speedo may be off a little) so it is something to think about.

Help!

Well I have the 22" magnaflow and no resonators and i wish it was a bit louder. You wouldn't even be able to tell i had a new muffler on really unless you knew what you were listening to. I have a 2012 hemi so I'm not sure about the 05, but id say go with the 18s

Thanks for the info guys. It looks like both of you have 2012. Do either of you still have the stock resonators? I know that the dual tail pipe resonators make a difference in the sound. The front one will also mellow it out a lot.

Hey, I just did a custom cat back install on my 2010 Sport ram where I used a 22” SI/DO Magnaflow 5x11x22 with 2.5” pipe out the rear to 2 4x18 stainless tips deleting the resonators and it sounds amazing! It has a VERY deep tone, but not loud unless you step on it and there is no drone while cruising. One thing you should take into account is a larger case muffler has more acoustical dampening in it and it will help reduce interior resonance so you will have less drone in the cab.

My vote is the 5x11.x22” case based of personal experience, however I cannot comment on how it will sound with you running a DI/DO set up, but if its anything like my SI/DO you will love it.

Just installed the Mufflex 24 on my stock exhaust & has a nice deep rumble on start up but not too loud cruising.
