Default 2012 Ram Express Stereo Wiring Issue (Switched power)

I am new to this forum s I apologize if this is in the wrong place.

I have a 2012 RAM Express (love it) in which I have changed all the sound system components, speakers, amp, subs, and finally the head unit. I got the head unit wired EXCEPT for the 'switched 12v wire'. I had 2 wires left over after installing new head unit but I assume at east 1 of them is for the backlit dimmer for the instrument lighting. I have resorted, for now, to running a jumper to the switched cig lighter. It works but I definitely want to hide that wire and do it a different way. Any help wold be appreciated.

I read on a thread somewhere which suggested to run a wire to the steering column but I would assume there is a switched power line from the oem head unit. Oh, I have the basic head unit, no navigation.
