Question Smittybilt roof rack possible issue?

So i bought a Smittybilt defender roof rack with a light cage, highlift and axe/shovel mount. total weight would probably be close to 100 pounds

It bolts into the roof with 4 brackets. Now i stopped by my local body shop guy cose i know he wont charge me an arm and a leg.

He said i should be concerned because he believes that all roof racks (bolt in type) will make the roof buckle/waffle pretty much become all wavy and soft after i hit my first bump. Is this true because i don't really want that to happen since ill be offroading hitting bumps left and right.

The rack is 4'x4' so the bolts would pretty much be 3 feet apart on my quad cab.

A new roof would be like 400 if it should ever get too bad +paint but who would really ever see it right?

i just dont understand why it would get soft and wavy

now i have a 2014 ram 1500 so is a sheet metal roof. I plan on eventually line-xing the entire truck. Which would increase the strength of the sheet metal.

Should i go ahead an just get the roof done for now before i get the rack installed? Or would i be good without it for now
