Default Wanting a ram without over-spending

Hey im new to the forum (first post) and I just got rid of my chevy s10. m a dodge man thru and thru but all ive had is chevy and gmc for some reason. Im wanting to purchase a (new to me) 3rd gen ram. Ive looked around quite a bit and am going to look at a 2003 4.7 5 speed ram tomorrow for 10 grand. It is 4wd, quad cab, and has 103k on it. Any input is appreciated on which way to go and if anybody in nc has any for sale i have open ears. But it HAS to be manual quad cab and 4wd, i get bored with autos lol

Thanks in advance.

I mean paying more than its worth or rather paying more than i have to. Ive seen autos alot cheaper. I actually just drove one today that was 13 grand with 68k on it.. it was an 04 4wd quad cab with 4.7 in it. Its just so daggum hard to find a manual ram anywhere. Idk where else to look besides just riding around, looking on auto-trader and craigslist. I really want a manual but if they are really that rare id think it would be hard to find a good deal bc they all get snatched up...

no, no hemi manual unless you get a 4th gen 2500. The best way to do it would be a 4th gen ST with a manual and a 4.7. Best bang for your buck I think. What is your budget?

IMO that sounds expensive for that truck. It will be hard to locate a manual though. 4.7L's were available with manual through 2008 IIRC. The 2008 got the updated 4.7L(more power). I think it also got the worse gearbox too though(the 6 speed is worse than the older 5 speed). So it's a give/take lol.

I don't know. I just went on kbb and looked up a 2003 4.7L 5 speed quad cab 4x4 SLT with 103,000 mile in very good condition, and it says $9,800.00. So I guess that's not a bad price. I just remember when I was shopping I was looking around 2005's with 50-100k miles, quad cab, 2wd, and they were like 10-15k, so I would have though the older truck and higher miles would have dropped a few thousand dollars. I guess 4x4 is worth a few grand as well though...so maybe not such a bad deal after all. I'd still try to talk them down a few thousand. It's a buyer's market right now. What condition is it in?
