Grossly was an understatement, INSANELY is closer to the mark. I wouldn't even call that a mid travel kit. It's just a glorified lift. And Yes I have priced parts, I am part owner of a shop that builds race vehicles.

Good job, you officially have no idea what you are talking about.
Actually no the fenders in the kit are much more than that and yes the kit does come with "other crap": pre-runner lift kit, off road front bumper, tire carrier, front fenders, rear fenders, hood, and exhaust. Heres the facts on the kit straight from Mopar:

Pre-runner stage II lift kit, P# P5155662 $13,270

Off-road front bumper, P# P5155663 $1,250

Off road tire carrier, P# P5155664 $1,010

Off road front fenders, P# P155665 $1,020

Off road rear fenders, P# P155666 $1,350

Sport Performance Hood, P# 82211065AD $978

5.7L cat-back exhaust, P# P5155280 $1,135

Total Price $20,013 plus tax, paint, and install if you can't do it yourself.

As for that front bumper I would still call that a type of push bar, it comes up and over the front grille. Its a skid plate, bumper push bar all in one:

Looks like I might kinda know what I'm talking about...

I never said it was a good investment just that ram runners look fricken cool. Would I buy a $20,000 off road kit? No, you could buy a 80's chevy truck, lift, tires, axles, engine, trans, and whatever else you want and still be under 20 grand.

and yes I saw I was a bit off in a earlier post saying the kit was $12 grand.

... Fiberglass front fenders should cost about $500, for any application. Glassworks unlimited is a great example of this pricing. You don't need fiberglass bedsides. Pull the bedsides for free. The front bumper is not a push bar, its a skid plate. It is designed to be landed on, it is a one time use item. Push anything with it and it's done.

The fact that you think that type of suspension is a "lift kit" proves that you don't have a clue.

This is starting to get comical, This thread was about the official Mopar Ram runner kit, I simply don't care about after market fenders and stuff, Obviously you can create this entire kit from after market parts for a fraction of the cost as the Mopar kit.

And before you go assuming that someone has no clue you should check the facts:
http://www.mopar.com/mopar/ramrunner/

"Pre-Runner Stage II Lift Kit:
5-link coil-spring rear suspension, 4130 chrome moly lower control arms, upper control arms, rebuildable high-angle ball joints and forged steel, high-angle tie rods. Fourteen inches of suspension travel in front and rear, 3-inch internal bypass Fox shocks. (Part No. P5155662)"

Mopar themselves refer to the Pre runner stage II lift kit as a stage II LIFT KIT its the very first item listed on that webpage. I'm just calling it what they say.

Your right, the thread is about the Ramrunner. And keeping on track with the thread, It is my educated opinion that the Ramrunner is garbage.

What is a "Stage II lift kit". Anyone know? Oh I do. MARKETING. They market the product that way because 999/1000 people who are interested in it don't have a clue that lift and wheel travel are not the same thing. I hear this all the time from people who are clueless about the vehicles we build: "Hey how many inches of lift does that thing have?" - Some hillbilly asking me about my truck. The universal answer is "depends on how high off the ground it is."

One can do a 3 or 4 link rear with coilovers for under $1800 and it will net 20 inches of travel. Bent beams up front can be from 18-26 inches of travel with quad bypasses for under $3000.

Now we can agree on something. You can def build your own kit for way under the ram runner price. I don't know if its garbage but its over priced for what you get. All I was saying was that it looked cool.

Thats not even the style of truck I like anyway. I'm more of a Trucks gone wild type of person, I've been to a couple of their events. While the ram runner is cool I'd still rather have something like this:

Get a spindle lift and you'll have that stance.

Hey dezertrunner, can you fabricate an upper and lower control arm kit for Rams bud? You sound like you know quite a bit to make a build sheet right. I'd just like a stronger A-Arm set up for those just in case I feel jumpy days you know? Or if you have a good recommendation as to whom does, that would be great too.

Sure, but it is going to cost a lot. There is no aftermarket for Dodge trucks. And I'm not talking about "lift kits" and universal bolt on junk. For arms, fabricated spindles, brakes, basic coilovers, hydraulic bump stops and materials you are looking at around $5000 plus labor. Installed it would be probably closer to $9000. That's just the front end. You would need at least deavers in the rear with all required accessories. Engine cage/cab cage/bedcage.

To build a weekend racer it costs about $30,000 on average. To build a trophy truck, its more like $800,000 - $1,000,000.

Wow, man thanks for the wake up call for some of us brokenutz. Hahaha! I guess I'll keep saving for it then. Appreciate ya speakin info bud. By the way what d'ya think of this upper control arm by Michigan Metal Works for $499? They are produced from HD .750 plate flat steel, and fully TIG welded. The arms feature a 1" Spherical bearing as well as new poly bushings and bolt sleeves. Each pair of arms come with everything needed to install them on our Ram trucks, and solve the stock control arm problem with contacting the coilover spring pocket. They come with a lifetime guarantee and they say are made to take a beating!!!! Your professional opinion man?
