HOLY ****!

good news is I've known three people who removed the muffler and replaced it with a section of pipe and it only ran 60 for one (ranger) and 70 for the other two (02 ram & 07 Chevy) all done at the local exhaust pros

LOL your tellin me! the guy wrote down the amount i really paid on the title. pissed me off! i was gonna do 3 grand but before i could say a word he had wrote it down.

just went to midas earlier to have the tip welded on. didnt know the exhaust was rotting out. he was gonna charge me 50 bucks and tax just to weld a tip on! he said 300 out the door for a Y pipe back, dual, and 2 tips if i went with no muffler, bout 350 out the door with the muffler.

That's not too bad for a system. When I had mine straight piped it was 170, I had the high flow cat, so I paid for the 3 1/2 inch slash tip, 3 inch pipe , 02 seating and labor. Not too bad

im leaning towards a heartthrob muffler myself. straight pipes are fun, i wont survive the state boys in wisconsin very long.

i had a few different setups on my 05 dakota with the 4.7
muffler replace with pipe, both resonators, some sound, no drone
same setup chopped off the rear resonator, sounded good, a bit too loud
thrush glasspack with the front resonator, good sound, too quiet
glasspack with no resonators, great sound, old school muscle, minimal drone
original 40 series dumped, too loud, droned like hell
dynomax ultraflow dumped, clean, but droned
dynomax ultraflow single at 45 deg. behind the passenger side, nice, clean, minimal drone inside, stayed that way for 3 years til i sold it
