Just had mine done, the lifetime warranty covered it. $410 saved for something that should have been a recall in the first place like many other things on these trucks, Dodge elected to hide the info and hope few owners found it!

Had the same tick on my 09, it was a header bolt that sheared and broke at where the manifold was at the block. They had to drill and tap it out at the dealer. Believe me this tick is not suppose to be there, I have seen some threads that state it is normal.

I had the same problem! Was on a bike trip to Lake Placid from Lindsay, Ontario. Had parked the truck for a week then started in up and it sounded like it was out of oil. When the engine warmed up the noise was gone! Took it to the dealership and 2 bolts broken but fixed under warranty! They never said anything about replacing the manifold!

Default What happened to "repairs?"

Are mechanics replacing the manifolds because it's "free" from the factory?
What wrong with simply "decking" the gasket surface like we would in the "old days?" I get upset with parts exchangers instead of mechanics!
Yes, I'm an old guy.

no their replacing it because its bent, when the two front bolts broke, nothing retain the manifold to the head so with the high temps and pressure the manifold bent a little so with the new bolt s it would not go flat on the heads and woulnd seal proprelly

hope this helps

I had mine replaced over the summer. I have the max care warranty and the factory lifetime powertrain warranty. Lifetime Powertrain covered the repairs so I didn't have to pay anything.

I had the same issue. Lucky for me my waranty had one month left when i discovered the problem. And like most others I had to wait for the parts to be ordered because they were not in stock, or what I'm thinking is that someone else I had recently been in to get their's fixed and used the parts on the shelf.

Sounds to me like the people who are told "they all do that" should go to another dealer.
