Default 2004 4.7L to Supercharged 440

Ok here is the deal I have a 2004 Ram 1500 4x4with a 4.7l aka the mercedes V8, which is now my fourth engine due to blowing up number 8 cylinder piston every time because of sludge problem, anyways I have a supercharged 440 that I have been building for a hot rod i was building that got demolished and I decided to put in my Ram. I have a 727 transmission and an Atlas transfer. My big question how do I keep my stock gauges to work with the 440 and keep my speedo reading since my reads oof the rear axle. Plus any thoughts, ideas, and opinions on any of this crazy plan. Thanks in advance.

4.7 is not a Mercedes engine. Your gauges will not work properly without the computer controls that I am guessing you got rid of. Since you don't have computer controls anymore, most if not all of your accessories will not function. Might as well rip out the old gauges and put in a custom Autometer filled cluster. Then you can run a cable from the trans to the speedo. Is this your daily driver?

Well after almost a year, I finally did it. The 440 is now running with the blower tucked under the hood, with the help of a 3 inch cowl, and I am using my factory gauges. It took alot of trial and error to make it work right but so far it is working. I converted the front end over to straight axle to eliminate the indepent suspension and cv axle breakage. I have been test driving it for over a week now so tonite we strip it down frame tosend everything off to get rebuilt, repainted, or replaced. The frame to get reinforced more and power coat, the body to get dents and rust fixed and painted, the motor was smoking,IDK why, but its getting rebuilt with everything forged. Hopefully everything get done and back to me within the next 6 months so I can get picks posted and get it to the track and see what she will do. I am planning on making exhaust fairly quite and putting cutouts in it to have a semi-sleeper, we will see how that goes. And the 4.7L motor is a mercedes designed motor that has major flaws

4.7 was not a MB engine bud.. When the 4.7 was produced, Daimler owned most of dodge and all of MB... but they were still two different entities. And I failed to see the "major flaws" in the 4.7 when I owned one in my 01 Dakota. Thing was strong, reliable, and quick. The fact that you blew through 4 4.7's and then now a 440 seems a little off to me..

^yep I've known several people with 4.7's and I have one and they are all running great with no issues. Definitely not associated with MB either.

4.7 was a design started by AMC. Chrysler finished it. Pictures or it didn't happen.
