Now how did you not just contradict yourself? The newer 4th Gens are faster then the old 3rd Gens stock Vs. Stock. A stock 3rd Gen will pull a high 15/low16 sec 1/4 time where a 4th Gen will pull a mid to low 14. MoparMike, reading your mod list, you have a tuner and headers, and a 4th Gen was keeping up with you. I don't think he was ahead by 5 lengths but a 1.5 - 2 second difference in 1/4 times would be a few lenghts for sure.

Read above statement man, a stock 4th Gen 5.7 is definitely faster than a stock 3rd Gen 5.7, The last time I checked the 3rd Gen didn't produce 390HP at the crank. Yes you can make a 3rd Gen faster than a 4th because you have the aftermarket for it. But even with a tuner, headers, ported TB and a 210 Cam MoparMike barely squeezed off a stock 4th Gen... his words.

tell me something I dont know I know what they do stock for stock dude. I ran a 13.5 with just a canned diablo tune and my buddy Mike (MGH) with his gen 4 twin turbo runs low 12s.. now look at all the drag threads..Im merely pointing out the vct are playing hell on the gen 4 5.7s.. where the gen 3 5.7s or the 6.1s doesnt have to deal with it. So in my humble opinion if you can show me an 11 second pass with your gen 4.... I know that when I pull up at a light and that older gen 3 RCSB pulls beside me, he gets a nice big thumbs up from me cause there is a distinct lil possibility he'd smoke my ****in ass LOL
heres some food for thought for you, peace young blood and happy hunting...<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zvzrdkOA8BE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Ah ok I see what your getting at, hopefully more companies like Comp Cams (Introduced VVT Compatible Cams) and Inertia will step up when it comes to helping make more power out of these things. I know the 3rd Gens tend to dominate the strip since they aren't as limited
