Default I'm lost!

Hey folks, last time I posted to this forum it took me 2 days to figure out how to do it and another full day to find out how to read the replies...that was months ago. I'm lost again so, if it's ok, I'll ask my questions(s) here. 2003 Ram Hemi 2500 Laramie. Airbag light is on constant. Dodge service says problem is in the seatbelt tensioner where you pull it from the post, not the female end at the seat level. anyone have any problems with this b4? Also I told him my mpg is 9.5 steady. He says air filter is bad and recommends changing but on the side recommends K & N Cold Air Intake. Only had this truck for 5 months and new to this type of equipment. Can you tell me where on the forum to go to get info on whether that would improve my mpg? Also tell me how to get to that part of the forum. Thanks for the help.

hi lawman,
i will run a tsb for u to see if that correct.also i have a air aid cold air intake yes it did help improve gas milage, but it is seen more on level ground no hills with cruse control on.other than that well it a horse power thing.being a ase mechanic i will check in to that seat belt,i just dont think that true but i could be wrong...i recommend ether a bbk cold air intake( guarnteed 15h.p/good gas milag) or a air-aid system....u can (msg) me if that helps

07TORAMU, I'm not sure what a TSB is but whatever it is, if it will help me out, I am deeply appreciative. Thanks for looking into the seatbelt thing for me. I will price out and try to find the proper fit for the BBK or Air-Aid system. I'm assuming you are recommending that over the K&N? Also, is it something I can reasonably put it myself? One last thing, I was looking on line to get info on K&N intake systems and found someone who said he strongly recommended installing a JET POWR-FLO TBI spacer (model 62138) along with the intake system. U have any input on that one? I don't know my way around this group at all so I don't have a clue what "messaging" you means. If you are cool with it though, I would certainly welcome you emailing me directly with any help. abowen2@cox.net Thanks again for stepping up to help out here. -Art-

Lawman, a Throttle Body Spacer doesn't do a thing, except make noise
they make good paper weights if you have one already

best way to find your way around this forum, is to click on the image of the Rams up at the top of the page

    • A throttle body spacer is a component added to the throttle body of a fuel injection engine to improve fuelefficiency and add power to the engine. The throttle body has a similar function to the carburetor on a non-fuel injection engine. A carburetor, however, controls the mix of air and fuel that is sent into the engine's cylinders, while a throttle body only regulates the air flow to the engine, in cooperation with the fuel injection system.

    • The throttle body of a fuel injection engine regulates the amount of air that goes into the engine and is subject to the driver's control. It is placed between the air filter and the car's intake manifold. The throttle body consists mostly of a throttle plate, a butterfly valve that controls the airflow.

In a fuel injection engine, the accelerator connects to the throttle by a throttle cable. This cable causes throttle linkages to open the throttle plate, which adds more airflow to the engine. The increased airflow requires an increase in fuel, in order to maintain the correct mixture of fuel and air for the engine. The engine control unit is signaled to increase the fuel provided to the fuel injectors, in order to ensure that the ratio remains correct. The increased fuel and air mixture adds to the engine's power by creating a larger explosion in the engine.

  • A throttle body spacer creates a larger area around the throttle body. This gives the throttle body a larger capacity for air intake, when the accelerator is pressed. When the throttle body valve opens, the throttle body spacer allows a greater amount of air to pass through the valve, increasing the power available to the car. This also improves the car's energyefficiency, due to the fact that the air is readily available, so the car does not need to expend effort to bring it to the throttle plate.

  • I have installed many and many have feelt difference as some have not, well hope this help explain to everybody..
