If you are serious about drag racing the 20's aren't "killing you"... I have DRs I mounted on older style 17s. Ran about .2 faster time. Yes a bit of a drop but that isn't "Killing your time". What I will add is you seem to not be launching your truck correctly. Or even doing it at all. Might just be because I am used to my loud exhaust you can hear me launching, but it really seems like you aren't doing anything but letting it idle then punching it to the floor when it hits green. That is KILLING your QM time for sure. Your truck doesn't produce HP until it reaches 3k+
Remove the spare, and remove the tailgate. Rear seat and interior peaces are a bit over kill unless you are being VERY serious about a good time. If this is just a hobby don't bother.
My best advice is to lower the PSI in the rear tires, and inflate the front to say 45. When launching turn TC off on the dash, and when staging (before the tree is getting ready to drop to green) press your foot on the break and hold the gas around 2k RPM. When you see green let off the break and step on the go petal. This is a controlled launch. Gets your engine in the higher RPMS where the power is made a lot faster. Your truck should be running quite a bit lower 1/8th mile. I think launching correctly will get you there. You will hear a tad bit of wheel spin (They will chirp) right when you let off the break and stamp on the gas but that is a good thing.
IMO that is exactly what is killing your time. My truck from a dead dog start (what you're doing here) Runs almost an 8 second 0-60 time. When I do a controlled launch on a good day I am mid to high 6 seconds or even lower. That to me is EXACTLY what is killing your time.
Also I don't know if you are manually shifting but you will net a lot faster time if you are. Remember the truck will shift from 1st to 2nd for you so don't worry about that first one. :P
Here is a video, it is NOT the best. But is our truck with the correct method of 2k RPM launch. What it should look, and sound like for you.
