Just made a trip from Houston Texas to Illinois. 2012 Crew Cab Lonestar. 3.55 gears, with all the performance mods listed in my sig.

I made it all the way from Houston to Nueton Illinois on a tank and a half of gas. So 1 1/2 tanks in the smaller tank size. I TURN MDS OFF, and averaged 22mpg at 80-85mpg cruise control set. IMO MDS IS A GIMIC. Just makes useless crappy drone and Honda Civic noises and does not EVER net me a difference in MPG. Not to mention hearing it kick in and on constantly along with feeling it do said kicking on and off nets a VERY uncomfortable ride.

There has got to be something you are leaving out. I could not understand how you are only getting 9mpg, and there not be a HUGE problem that is easy to spot and fix. I mean I drive the living bat crap out of my truck. I drive it HARD a lot. I mean I have caught some of the local PD in their Fords and Chevys, on the back roads leading to the freeway where I live, still in uniform getting off of their shift and we always go at it. Never do I do it on an open road with another person in the truck and others on the road yada yada yada. I still get average of at least 12mpg. That is VERY weird. Let us know what you find out and the fix (if it ever gets fixed) and if you run into dealer problems get a hold of the local rep and go to a different dealership. All dealerships have to recognize your warranty NOT just the one you bought it from.

Good luck friend!

Jchaney579! I thank you for confirming the possibility of achieving that kind of fuel mileage in our Rams. It is nice to know IT IS possible. Nice to know you made it to and from safely as well bud.

Pulling a 28' Airstream with my 2011 Longhorn I average 10 mpg pr better. Around town I get 15 - 16. On the interstate at 70 mph I get 20 - 21. I have had it for one year and have 25,000 miles on it. Best pick up ever owned.

Hope things get straightened out/ fixed. Even 11.5 is low unless you're driving it like you stole it...

I tend to get between 12-14 around town, depends on how I drive it. Lately I've been not quite grannying it, but haven't been doing WOT starts either. I have come to expect high 12's to mid 13's as my normal MPG, so whenever I get better than 14 I am pleased as can be.

The highway I see considerably better... ~25MPG

i'm getting 11.5 - 12.2 mpg on my 2011 big horn but i have a 6" lift kit and 20" off road tires too so i'm not expecting much more. i have 4300 miles on mine so maybe mine will start to increase soon as well.

Mine is a 2011 QC 4x4 Hemi w/ 3.92 and 17 inch wheels. I just drove from Kansas City to Pensacola, FL and back. Most of the time doing 75-80 MPH. I checked several times and was getting 19-19.4 MPG

Mixed in town and highway I typically get 16-17. Towing my 31 FT 7K LB trailer I get 8-10. It is also interesting to note I've owned several 6 cyl Jeeps that never got much better than 17-18 on the highway. This includes my recently traded 4 door Wrangler and my wife's current 2012 two door Wrangler with the new 3.6 six
