Exactly what JCChaney was saying, I made a 8 hour trip to the Gatty show and averaged 21MPG, I made 1 gas stop to fill when the tank was still above the half mark and I only had about 200 miles to go. The trip total according to Google Maps was 517 Miles, and I have no doubt I could have made it there on 1 tank. I left cruise control on at 80MPH for most of the trip with no MDS. City driving I'm sure I do horrible but thats my fault, I love the loud pedal to much and recently had to shut up a loud mouth Duramax boy lol

my truck has 4600 miles on it now and i can see the mileage is actually improving the more miles i put on it. like i said earlier, i have 20" rims and off road tires and 6" inch lift kit, and i forgot to mention i bought my truck with the optional 3.92 rear end. 13 mph is about the best i can hope for.

I live in North Florida (Jacksonville, S. Ga same thing ) So I have no idea why your seeing such horrible mileage. I attribute my great MPGs to the flat smooth roads we have...

[QUOTE=Jchaney579;836048]Just made a trip from Houston Texas to Illinois. 2012 Crew Cab Lonestar. 3.55 gears, with all the performance mods listed in my sig.

I made it all the way from Houston to Nueton Illinois on a tank and a half of gas. So 1 1/2 tanks in the smaller tank size. I TURN MDS OFF, and averaged 22mpg at 80-85mpg cruise control set. IMO MDS IS A GIMIC. Just makes useless crappy drone and Honda Civic noises and does not EVER net me a difference in MPG. Not to mention hearing it kick in and on constantly along with feeling it do said kicking on and off nets a VERY uncomfortable ride.

I will second that ^^^.
I turn my GIMIC MDS off all the time. I also get way better gas mileage with it off even on the interstate. I have gotten 21-23 mph quite a bit and this driving in the 80-85 mph range... Last month I pulled a 7000 lb trailer for 500 miles and everaged 14.6 (this was hand figured,, with BTW is only a difference of maybe .3 mpg on the EVIC).. so obviously something is wrong if your only getting 9.5-11 mpg,, even in the city...

I got 8.5 while towing a trailer, and around 18 unloaded lately. And I only have a bit over 1,000 miles.

I just hit 10k miles and there was a slight increase to around 15 MPG. Brand new and running in the winter, it barely made it over 10 MPG. Increased to around 12-14 after 5k miles. I have been babying the throttle so maybe it's taking longer to break in. =)

I would recommend trying 89 octane after the reflash as well. I regularly get 2-3 mpg better on 89 over 87. Since you are in FL then you shouldn't have to worry about winter fuel problems; however, depending on the blend in your area there can be a pretty big difference in the fuel economy.

Like many others have stated, unless you are laying laps at the track you should be seeing a good 5mpg better.

Any chance those of you experiencing poor gas mileage are running gas with 10% or more Ethanol?

Ethanol in gas = poor gas mileage. Due to the poorer burn qualities of Ethanol gas I would bet it actually adds to the air pollution since you have to burn more fuel to go the same distance. I avoid Ethanol in gas whenever possible

our hemi engine is not designed to bern more than 10% ethanol, so hopefully op is not burning e 15. op, might need to have your ecm recalibrated. i am thinking it is set for the wrong tire size. no way to check your mpg if this is the case. can't get an accurate reading on actual mileage traveled or actual gas being used. try a hand held gps. keep going back to dealer and complaining.
