Default Rust help!

I just bought my first ram yesterday my family has always had dodge always will. I have the 2000 sport 1500 the rust dosent look horrible from the outside but under the doors is pretty bad. I don't have access to a welder but I want this truck to last for a good while. I was thinking about using herculiner to prevent future rust. Whats the best remodys to repair without cutting. I also have a small spot on the one rear fender. I'm sure this has been discussed before but I could use the help!!!thanks

^ I agree ^

The rust has to be removed completely. Think of it as cancer. You can't just get rid of most of it and cover up the rest. I'd find a set of replacement doors, cut the bed and patch it back in. That quarter sized spot is more like the size of a tea cup saucer.

I was kinda leaning twords new but wasent sure. I think the kbs would eat too much and I'd be forced to get them welded. So far 300 is the cheapest I'm finding. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place? I'm also going to get the dodge yellow and respray the whole truck. The clear is coming off in some spots.

I had the same problem on my old 97 ram, but mine was on the rocker panels under the doors as well as the bottom of the doors. It was a cheap truck so I just fiberglass patches the empty holes and herculined the bottom portion of the truck and it looked great for a few months but eventually the rust came back through the herculiner. About once every 2 months I would just spray paint it again it black "rust preventative" to make it look new again.
