Default Starting problems

My truck won't start. I have checked battery post, battery cables, batteries, starter, starter relay and clutch pedal switch all are good I am left with the ignition switch. Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what else I might need to check?

By checking do you mean just looking at them? Have you checked the voltage of your battery with a multimeter? Sometimes your battery can put out full voltage, but then when a load(your vehicle starting) is put on it, the battery won't have enough amperage to actually start the vehicle.

It does & it's a bear to get to -- it's in the middle portion of the engine as opposed to front or rear as on other diesel engines. Crank Position Sensor on mine just quit without warning several years ago -- my son drove the truck for a while, next morning it wouldn't start & he thought it was his fault -- it wasn't, the CPS just died. Oh, the marvels of modern electronics

The other possibility I've referred to in several threads -- the Bosch VP44 injector pump WILL fail without warning, Dodge dealers only put another rebuilt stock pump on & the ONLY way to solve that problem is to get the Frieghtliner "Sprinter" van VP44 upgrade from an aftermarket shop -- I got mine from Blue Chip Diesel in New Hampshire.

An update on the crank position sensor possibility -- I just happened across this in a tech article: "Code 1690 or 336 indicates a signal issue with the Crankshaft Position Sensor."
