I also noticed that the scoop tucks more and an 1" in your valance. Do you have the steel (non sport) bumper? I have the sport bumper and the scoop sits flush with the lower valance.

Mine is the Laramie model so I'm not sure what bumper it is.

My Scoop clearly sits above the front skirt's lowest lip. Not sure why yours sits flush.....

Installed mine yesterday. can feel better throttle response and i love that sound you were talking about in your first post. it seems quieter while idling (maybe my brain is making that up) but louder when accelerating. I have the stock dual exhaust and the CAI brought it to life.

I have a sport bumper and the scoop just does rest on that lip of the air dam. I had plenty of play so I could adjust the scoop position. Yours looks to be sitting the same but hard to really tell. Mine might be slightly more forward by like a 1/4".

Edit- looked at the pictures closer and changed my post.

foam strips helped but the vibration at wot persisted just less .took off the lid even worse. thought it could be the box, tightened eveything.finally put a piece of k@n foam under the whole lid ,now i cant see my air filter but sounds great . its obvously just one loud filter enough to set off a vibration under wot. ive heard other people say the same with other intakes with the lid. insulating the lid is the only cure ,i now actually like the intake ,just cant see my filter, oh well.

So the vibrating rattling noise i'm hearing at certain rpm is from the lid of the intake box? Its very annoying, I love the sound of the S&B but HATE the damn rattle!

I don't understand...

Where exactly did you place the foam? Under the plexiglass cover? If so, your best bet would be to get some window/door insulation strips from your local hardware for a couple of dollars. They come in black and various widths and theyre flexible enouh to follow the box's curvature; this method won't be as obvious as a complete foam cover hiding the filter from view.

I don't have the vibration issue you speak of and haven't read that anyone else here has either, so I'm assuming its a user error [instalatiom] or defective part.

I'll post a number and name in the morning at S&B Filters for you to call and try and rectify your issue. You shouldn't have to resort to the methods outlined for a vibration that shouldn't be there..... and judging by your actions, it's darn loud and obnoxious.

Default s@b intake

hers a pic of the lid i just used some shelf lining smooth sided foam from lowes. this seemed to cure the resonating sound at wot. tried just around the edges but this was better sound . gotta say i do like this intake though, just needed tweeking for my application. i do believe it probably differs in sound on different trucks ,i thought about isulating the box but this was quicker .thanks for the reply
