Default Clay Bar?

I know this has probably been asked before but. I just bought a 2012 dodge 1500 sport. Do I need to use a clay bar with my first wax job or not?

Yes, you should clay bar it first.

Depending on how detailed you plan on getting, you can get a decontamination spray or system to cut down on the amount of iron and other deposits that have planted themselves on your paint since it was made before using clay bar.

I would even go as far as to suggest polishing the paint or using a paint cleaner. The better prepped the surface, the better your wax will bond, the easier contamination comes off of the paint in the future.

I clay bar every vehicle I own and when you do yours even though it's new you will see just how much crap is on that factory paint job,

Here's my Ram Express hood detailed after a week of ownership I love clay bar,
