I have to agree. Seeing the half a$$ job they did of setting you up I would have been at the end of my rope a long time ago. Here to hoping you get a solution!

It is not ethical but it happens probably more than we know. In the event someone buys one of these vehicles that is misrepresented as anything but a Lemon, there are actions that can be taken against the dealer that does this.
Hope you are doing ok with yuor truck. Keep us posted.

Bought the truck brand new exactly a year ago this month here is a video for those who have not seen this problem before

Exactly what my truck does. So here is what they told me at close of business yeaterday. They changed a sensor or relay in my trans. i went in saw my truck on the lift and the bottom of the tranny open. They explained it to me this way. Something about my truck reading 1.9 volts whenit starts and that being way too high? So it caused my starter to not engage. The put the sensor/relay in and now when it starts it reads .46 volts. Something about resistance being the problem, per the Regional Tech Guru they brought in. This guy is the last ditch effort to fix a vehicle beofre they do the buy back I guess. They also added an extra ground from the Battery to the starter. i really was not too keen on this because it does not come on the truck, but they assured me it would be documened. Then they had the Service guy take it home this weekend so he can continue to try starting it and driving it short distances, and starting it again. We will see... I was not too excited about someone taking my truck home and doing what they want with it, for all I know hes out running the piss out of it, but no options left here. So ..I will keep you posted on Mondays results.

Justin have not seen any replies on your issue. How is it going? I hope you have read my thread and seen the fix for mine after 4 months with the same issue as you?

That info is good to know I will have to let my service dept know about those parts but according to them they think its pointless to start replacing things when they don't know exactly what it is.. I have not had my truck in for service since the last time about 2 months ago, the problem with starting seems to be happening more often for me though but not all the time but putting in in neutral always works so i haven't been stranded anywhere yet.. my truck is my only form of transportation and I don't think they will give me a rental until they see this issue happen for them until then in their opinion there is nothing wrong, so im kinda of stuck right now on what to do. Only option is to let them have my truck for a few days and be without a vehicle just for them to say sorry don't know what to tell you.. frustrating

I just bought a 2011 Ram Sport this past Saturday, 15000kms. I filled up with gas on Monday, and this same thing happened to me when I went to start it up. On the 4th attempt it started up. Caught me off gaurd and sent me on this mission to find this post.

Can anyone update their results, I assume since no udates in a while that something must have been resolved. Please fill me in.

thanks
mark

Identical problem, with identical dealer answeres here!!!!! The reason I joined this forum!! My wife mentioned all of the fixes mentioned here to the service dept and they looked at her like she was an idiot!!!

It's back there tonight to see if it won't start in the morning. If it does we'll get the same treatment, no doubt. No code, no fix. What ever happened to SERVICE in this brand!!!!
