i owned a snapper lawn mower one time and the paint did exactly what it did on your bumper......it came off in huge pieces..this was after about a yr of owning it. i neever did anything about it cause i hated that mower anyways but i just assumed it was due to bad prep before painting

Ok I do used car reconditioning at several used car and truck lots. everything from a corrola to 3500's. bugs will eat into your paint if left long enough. you can see it on a lot of older cars with.plastic bumpers left for long periods without being washed. if you wash your truck bugs won't eat away at your paint. also paint only peels.off in pieces like you describe because there was improper prep work or maybe some silicone or greasy try of product found its way onto your truck and probably many other where it was built. but that is a defect so I would clean it up and.go to as.many dealers as you have to and argue till you get it fixed. I mean f the paint is peeling like it cane from a Macco then it obviously should be covered under warranty on a 2012.

You said it! That's the biggest load of bulls*it I've ever heard of! That dealer should be reported to Dodge IMMEDIATELY!! Go find yourself another dealership whose sole purpose isn't to lie to the customer and try to rip them off!!!

What I find even stranger is dealers get paid to fix cars that are under warranty for defects. I have fixed defects in Ned Ford before for the service manager and they get paid on book time so they actually made money since.my company is cheaper than their bodyshop and our work is better.l would.think they would want the job.

Can someone please explain what a dealer might possibly gain by not trying to resolve warranty issues? I thought they are paid for the work by the manufacturer. The only reason I can think of is delayed payment.

Thumbs up

If you cannot get any satisfaction from the dealer, and you have a second vehicle or access to one for a few days, I know what I would do. Park your truck in front of the dealer and put a big red flag on it. Then, create a big sign that states what happened to the vehicle, why they won't honour the warranty, and basically let everyone know they should not buy there next vehicle here....That should get their attention quickly!

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of in my entire life, period. Vehicles go through some pretty stringent testing for durability in different elements...aw, hell, I can't even believe I began to type a response to this.

Just take it to another dealer asap.
