The tick is pretty common/normal. Usually it's not too audible(can't hear it over the radio or anything), and goes away once warm after a few minutes.

As far as the stalling, I'd start by checking for vacuum leaks/cracked or dry rotted vacuum lines.

Sean is right on....the tick is normal for the 4.7....well actually, the hemi too for that matter except the hemi does it all the time, lol.

Wish I could help you with the stall issue. I don't really have anything good to offer except to say that I have read about quite a few erratic idle type issues with the third gen 4.7 trucks. If Sean's idea doesn't pan out you might want to think about the throttle position sensor or idle air control valve. They can actually cause problems without throwing a CEL.

And as for the MPG...that's close to par for a third gen, lol. I noticed a slight gain with a Magnaflow muffler. I MIGHT have averaged 14 mpg. I noticed a little increase with a Superchips programmer as well but I was running 93 octane in it with the performance tune so that might have been part of the reason for the increase. I found that the cost of 93 octane actually negated the marginal gain that I saw.
