My girl friend doesn't like my truck, or atleast says she doesn't. And when I said I wanted to change stuff she said "you just spent 10,000 to buy that truck. It should need nothing". I say It doesn't "need" anything, it is only a want

I haven't been on the forum since I left back in March, but got on hereto look into some ideas I had. I always try to glimpse through the "Off Topic" for a juicy thread and this one caught my eye. So here is my story.

My wife likes my truck more than any other vehicle I have owned. However, like all the other vehicles I've owned, it has a manual transmission, which she has always previously refused to learn how to drive. Much to my dismay, she decides she wants to learn how to drive my truck. Well after about an hour and a half of constant stalling and jerking, and watching my transfer case lever jolting back and forth, she got frustrated and gave up.

Well, now I'm deployed and she has had six months with my truck. I just have her run it once a week and a buddy of mine on Rear Detachment comes over and drives it about twice a month. Well apparently after one of his drives, he forgot to put it back in neutral for her. So she goes out to start it and when she lets of the clutch and it jerked forward and hit her Jeep. Apparently she ridiculously close to my bumper. Other than that it has been smooth sailing as far as she has told me.

As far as mods, I haven't done many, but I have some post-deployment gifts to myself in mind for when I get back.

I have left my truck for long period of time twice not under shelter the first for a couple months in Seattle, The second in a much harsher environment close to the coast in N Cal, fog and other possible calamities with no one to look after her for nearly 8 months started up both times first time no disconnecting of batteries etc and she has been running perfectly since for the last 6000 miles and the paint etc not damaged at all.

No damage to the Ram thankfully. The bolts on the front license plate punched a hole in her front bumper (plastic). It's an '02 Liberty, so it's not really a Jeep.

At least from what she told me. She is very good at downplaying the seriousness of situations, especially when it comes to my truck.
