I would use the cheapest oil I could find to start with to make sure it runs/drives good enough to be used. If it's good, that I would go the Mobil 1 (or similar) route with it.

I agree with Brad. I'd use a cheap oil (and filter) as an engine flush. Any sediment, corrosion or foreign matter will come out at the next change...providing there is a next change (hopefully). I've even gone to the extent to putting Marvels in the chambers and spinning an engine over by hand before giving it power

A half hours worth of preparation/precaution can go a long way in saving some life on the engine. A friend of mine tried firing one up after sitting and not being fogged and snapped a ring.

I'd get her running, replace the timing belt and components, and add the premium oil.
