Yep, you will find if you search here it has been a problem for many. I have a minor tear on the front edge and just got it cleared to replace before the 3 years warranty expired.

first sign of any damage of this sort, take it in the dealership so that it can be documented, that way if it gets worse they already know about it, and you might have a chance of them fixing it under warranty, even if the time has expired

Are you the first or second owner? If the first they should replace it mine is being replaced. You should have a little booklet which shows you what is covered under warranty. If the second owner I'm not sure, but I am sure someone else will chime in.

I have a 09 with the same problem – small tear in the left/front of the driver’s seat. I suppose since that area gets the most wear. My truck is out of the 36K/3 year warranty but I have the full extended warranty. My dealer thought it would be covered on the extended warranty but he was wrong. They will not cover any “trim” issues on the extended plan. They said the seat cover would be $600.00 plus installation. I guess I will put some tape over the tear and trade the truck next year – perhaps back to Ford. I am not a very happy camper. Obviously, they have a design problem with the “AC” seat covers.

Ya, that's why I opted out of the vented seats all those holes are just going to give eventually. I actually went with the Katskin seats instead, love them!

I had my drivers seat fixed today under warranty. I am not sure what will happen if it goes again as I am now past the 3 year warranty time. If the passengers side goes and they try to screw me I will definitely go to Katskin because I intend keeping this truck for along time. My last truck the seat fell apart and that was a real bummer.

Just an update on the seat issue. I took the truck to a local vinyl repair shop and they fixed the tear as I waited. It looks perfect and it cost $50.00, which is cheaper than a new cover for $600.
