I dont!
But just based on what you said above, that is all I need

From what ive read and talked to our mechanics on switching after using conventional for a while it doesnt matter as long as its less 60k miles. after that seals start to break down and oil leaks seem to become more likely. especially on vehicles 6-10 years old or older theyve told me if your over 100k it can actually hurt the vehicle. hope this helps!

But what synthetic oil would you recommend that is easy to obtain/over the counter type oil?
Castrol? Mobile one as you indicated above?
Mobil 1 is the easiest to get over the counter. Amsoil has the best protection, and royal purple is on par with M1 but more expensive.

There's no evidence of synthetic providing any performance gains, it's an urban myth of the car world. Synthetic doesn't break down as quickly compared to the conventional oil so it provides better durability and endurance compared to conventional. You'll have less wear on parts because of it, and I'll believe the whole mileage increase when I see imperical evidence over a long period a large pool, same vehicle and driver, and difference is oil type. In my vehicle alone there is a mileage difference between me and my fiancee, she gets almost 70km more than I do out of a tank just based on different driving habits, and I reset my adaptives frequently so the vehicle basically relearns every time we get into it.

Put in Pennzoil Platinum full synthetic at 3,000kms and changed it again at 10K. Now I have just over 10K. Can't say I noticed anything different but it's been so long now it's just the norm to me if there was any difference. I did notice that the "hemi tick" is gone. Was it the oil? Idk for sure. Does it matter what brand of oil you use, personally I don't think so, but I'm going to stick with Pennzoil Platinum. Unless there is a super deal on something else when I need it. :-)

I use Penzoil Platinum also. I had read on the various forums that guys were hearing the Hemi tick a lot louder running Mobile 1 and the Penzoil was on sale at the time so I went with it. I dont get any tick so Penzoil works for me.

I can get 7qts and a filter for $45 at Autozone. Thats a pretty good deal.

Exclusively synthetic, first change at 5,000 kms. I use Amsoil 0W20 extended drain with a WIX (Uap Napa Gold) filter. Never looked back. Engine seemed to quiet down right away after the fill and also seemed to perform better.
