Default Please Help!!! Stalling Problems

I have a 2001 Ram Sport with a 5.9 that stalls between 1900 and 3000 rpm. It is fine if I can get it above 3000. The trouble is getting it there. Also, when I remove the gas cap, there is a release of pressure. I don't know if this is related or not. So far, I have changed the spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, TPS, and coil. There are error codes saying that I have misfires. It wouldn't be so bad if it were a slight miss but the motor WILL NOT run between 1900 and 3000 rpm. It completely dies. I have to let off the gas or put it to the floor to get out of that rpm range. PLEASE HELP!

The misfire codes are the only ones that come up. They only come up sometimes though. Also, it seems to run better when it is raining.

It does have a bad neutral starting switch, although, I don't think that would have anything to do with the missing.

Fuel pump, bad injector clogged filter check the pressure going to the rail. Also do a compression test how many miles are on it?

It has 76k miles on it. I did a pressure test on the fuel rail and it was ~50# so I wouldn't think it would be the fuel pump or the filter sock. The motor seems to surge when idling also if that helps any.

sorta sounds like the IAC(idle air control) sensor is going bad or having trouble regulating air fuel mixture. Check for a vacuum line leak or a common problem on the 5.9 is the plenum gasket sucking air. Not all sensor codes can be picked up with a obd scan tool.

I'm leaning towards an electronic issue. Do the gauges do anything funny between the mentioned RPM's?

I'm thinking dist or coil.

I have already looked into cleaning the IAC sensor and that is next on the list of things to do. What is the easiest check for a plenum gasket leak?

The gauges are normal. I already replaced the coil, distributor cap, and rotor.
