Default Brake selection

I am getting close to getting the brakes done on my truck, if I do it myself I would want to buy a better than factory set. Anyone got any recommendations to what is a decent upgrade to stock, rotors and pads. I have seen the Power Stop kits that come with the right rotors and pads for my truck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Here's a short review I did on EBC Green Stuff pads (I did the pads but didn't replace the rotors this time around as I didn't see a need, so I can't help you on a rotor recommendation):

Thanks. Been looking at ebc, talked with them about the winters here in Winnipeg Canada. They were not sure about their rotors. Powerstop said their kits would work fine. So I placed an order for a 4 wheel kit and will pick it up state side next week.

Got my brakes, just gotta get them installed. Got a kit from Power Stop, they look good in the box, but would be better on my truck.

Lots of friends telling me to just do myself. It's easy, anyone got any links or videos to some how to on replacing all 4 of the brakes.

Thanks!

Got my front brakes done, however the rear ones are turning out to be a problem. Trying to get the first rear rotor off and it will not budge, sprayed the heck out of the with wd40, smacked it with a deadblow hammer. I have removed the retaining clip on one of the lug studs, I am missing something here? Need help truck is up on jack stands.

Thanks!

Here are pics of the front brakes, never got the rear rotors off, beat those to heck, at least as far as I could with it on jack stands. Will take it to a mechanic to beat on, for $140 its not so bad. But they definitely look better and perform better just on the front.

They look good hopefully my brake guy will not have any issues with the rear on my truck. I have the powerstop pads but different rotors. I got the rotors off the same guy that I got the ones I have had on my trans am and they have lasted though 2 sets of ebc red pads and almost completely wore out the Wagners and still look good. kit cost me $205. I would install them myself but.my friend owns a Midas and said he would do them for $150 and paint the calipers for me so I don't have to bother. wanted those dance covers but way too much money for.me.

I spoke to a Kal Tire in my area, the guy there understood what I was going through. For $120 they will beat the rear rotors off. He told me that sometimes they break rotors in half while beating them off. He says most pickups and the rear rotors are like this, goes in Thursday. Going to watch them beat those old rotors off. Curious to see what kind of brute force will take to get them off.

All four wheels done, Kal Tire took an air hammer to the rotor I was having troubles with. The other one came off with no issue. Go figure. Brakes look awesome and it brakes like it's from the factory.
