Default Brake rotors

I need to replace the rotors on my 05 ram. Thinking about cross drilled/ slotted or dimpled/ slotted. What do u think?

Ideally, neither. Cross-drilled and dimpled is just for aesthetics these days, you also can't turn them, sup if they warp then you are replacing rotors instead. Only porche actually runs cross-drilled from the factory and then only on one vehicle. if you want the looks, then go for it, if you want performance then get a set of smooth or slotted rotors.

Many OEM's besides Porsche still run drilled rotors on high end cars....just sayin'
Are they necessary on our trucks? No
Do they look cool as hell? Yup
Run em if you like em but don't expect any real reduction in stopping distance from them.

I have the slotted/dimpled EBC rotors along with the yellow stuff pads. A great combo!

I would have to argue that dimpled make a difference from reviews I have read.

The EBC dimpled gold rotors and ceramic pads are actually designed to work specifically with eachother, and are a stronger brake package then stock. The rotors are coated with a superthin layer of harder substance wich grabs ceramic padded materiel like crazy, but it is so much harder than the ceramic, according to EBC and myself, from installing them on a girlfriends car, the rotor doesn't wear at all, it is all in the pad, since the coating is said to last the life of 2 full sets of pads from EBC. I installed these on her 2004 Tiburon, and then 48,000 miles later put a new set of pads on them, and I never touched the rotors, they looked completely unworn.
