Default Neutral safety switch issue

Hey got an 01 ram 1500 and I believe I need to replace the nss. Truck doesn't make a sound when I try to start it. But it does start in neutral so I figured I need to change the switch. I think it's the one just above the tranny lip it's 3 wires... Green purple and black... Is this it?? If so it runs really far uP and feels like it splits so it makes me feel like I'm wrong.. Any help in locating it and trying to remove it... Thanks for the help

Its the one on the lower left front edge of trans just above pan. Also have you tryed to move shift lever a bit to see if it will start in park. Linkage might be out of ajustment.

It could be dirty inside, or a bad connection.
I had a problem kind of like this, and before I even tried to clean it or anything, I went and purchased a whole new switch. Of course once I got home I cleaned the old one and it worked just find then.
I have two now, but I would check that before you get a new one.
