Agreed, a 5.7L and 6.4L option would be nice along with more rearend options.

Unlock the ECU, let the owner have the option to void the waranty with after market tuners if they want it. A simple black box recorder can tell them everything they want to know what/when was done to it.

The lack of adaptive cruise control is really going to bother me. It (and collision avoidance) was a $1500 option on my SUV and it was worth every penny. Assuming Ford offers it, it's enough to make me at least consider a F-150.

A 6'4" bed is another thing that's going to be hard to get used to. It's only 3" shorter than what I have now but that 3" makes a big difference in the loads that I carry. Hmm, any hope of a Quad cab with an 8' box?

People hate the knob on the dash to select gears. I am not really into it myself, but it is not a choice that they just wanted to do to be cute. Their new 8 speed trans is fully electronic. There is no having to manually put the truck in gear moving it manually yourself into park, neutral, reverse, nor drive. It is all completely electronic pulse controlled. So there is no reason to create a fake shifter. Honestly buttons on the dash would have been better than a stupid knob though.

The F150 doesn't offer adaptive cruise control either.

The gearing on the ZF tranny may alleviate some of the desire for additional axle ratios.

Looking at the spec sheet, it looks like the ZF 8 transmission will be offered with axle ratios of 3.21, 3.55, and 3.92. That may seem like a yawner until you consider that the current 5 speed transmission has a first gear ratio of 3.00 and the ZF has a first gear of 4.71 and it's 2nd gear is 3.14.

The current 5 speed transmission with a 3.92 axle ratio yields a 1st gear final drive ratio of 11.76:1. Pairing it with a 4.56 rear end would lower that to 13.68. Even with the 3.21 rear end, the ZF bests that down low with a 1st gear final drive ratio of 15.12. With the 3.92, that goes to a stump pulling 18.46:1!
