Default Tow with truck before broke in?

I am getting my new Ram 2011 Outdoorsman Tuesday and Friday I need to drive about 1.5 hrs away with my 3 horse trailer and 3 horses. The drive is all freeway, but I am concerned about towing with it right away. Should I be worried? Thank you for any feedback

Drive it all you can in those 3 days or so. Get used to the truck. Hopefully you have 500-750 miles before you tow.

Don't know for a fact, and this is just my opinion, but I think you should break her in first before you tow.

Be on safe side and ask dealership!

What kind of mileage do you consider broke in?

i bought my 2011 Laramie about 6 weeks ago and towed about 200 Miles the next day

Also towed my Charger up to TENN to the Gatty 4.0 Meet.

Right now, I have about 4700 miles on her and about 2900 of those were towing

Thank you for the input. I am going from an 04 chevy duramax with allison tranny, so how does this thing tow? I usually only tow 7500 pounds, hoping this thing tows ok going from a 3/4 ton diesel to 1/2 ton gasser. Tired of expensive maintenance and replacement parts on my chevy.

Im going from my 07 Laramie 5.7 to the new one and its much better.

The 3.92 and the more powerful engine sure made a difference when pulling in the Appalachian Mountains. In FLA I tow my trailer and car etc... approx 7000lbs and tows great and still gets about 12-12.5mpg

Only thing I might look into is a leveling spring as it did make the rear of my truck sit a little lower. I had leveling springs on my 2007 and she sat perfect....

12mpg would be nice, I get 16-17 around town and 20-21 on freeway and 13 towing with my chevy duramax. I must say I am very excited to get my new truck and I like their Outdoorsman package because it has everything I wanted and seems like it should be decent for when I need to pull my horse trailer.

I have never towed with a Diesel but do know they are the great mule to do so with. I dont think you will be disappointed with it. I love my truck and think the newer 5.7Ls pull alot tougher then my old one
