Default Mileage

Just got off the road. 5 hour trip. Got 20mpg at avg.72 mph. Should I be jumping up and down happy or hopping up and down mad? Ran the AC the whole way.

With the A/C on and driving at that speed you should definitely be jumping up and down. That's impressive for the 4.7. Good job !!!

Great job!! I have a 2010 QC 4X4 Hemi and got 21 mpg off of a 6 hour trip going up and down hills. I learned how to ignore the honks!

That's very respectable mileage. If you had reduced your speed to 64-65 mph you probably could have got another 1-2 mpg improvement.

I've been averaging 18.5 to 20.1 mpg driving 65-70 mph in my '11 Ram Hemi 5.7... The temps here everyday have been +105F, so I'm sure my mpg would be another 1-2 mpg higher if temps were about 30-40F less.

Right on par with what I get at that speed with my 4.7L, pretty happy over here

We did 2,600 miles from Orlando to TN then to AR then back to Orlando about a month ago, with about 1,000-1,5000 lb in the truck and was driving about 75mph the whole time with AC on of course, we did avg of 20mpg over the whole trip. I was very happy considering the mountains and the weight in the truck, and it was 100+ deg F for most of the drive.
