Question What's this thing?

While working on the truck tonight, I found the item pictured below hanging on its cable behind the drivers side knee bolster. The cable is 2 wires, orange with a white stripe and black with an orange stripe. I looked around in the general area it was hanging, but did not see where it is supposed to go. Also, peeking between the metal and plastic, I did see coils, so I'd guess it's a small motor. There are no markings on it except the number 10302 etched into the back of it. Can anyone help identify what this is and where it belongs?

I think its the neutral safety switch (or maybe a different name). Had to replace that myself. Helps prevent you from jamming it into reverse while in drive I think. I could be wrong on exactly what it is.

follow the shifter cable where you will see the metal plate slide up and down, there will be a circle in that plate exposing the metal with holes drilled into it
thats where it clips into
