it's possible that it's the crankshaft position sensor, or the fuel filter is clogged. pumping the gas pedal won't flood efi trucks so you wont get a gas smell. I do know that if the crankshaft position sensor is bad the fuel pump wont kick on. I had one go on a grand cherokee I had, just filled the tank up went to start wouldn't start. first thought was the pump. had it towed home dropped the tank wasted about 10 gal of gas in the process, didn't do a thing. took a dealership 2 days of chasing wires, replacing the computer and a few other things to determine that it was the crankshaft sensor.

Welcome to the forum!

Easiest way is to give 'er a shot of starting fluid. If not, get a rubber mallet and rap on the tank while someone else tries starting it.

As for the pump...there's a few threads with the pro's of lifting the bed as opposed to dropping the tank.

Here's an index page that might help navigate the site http://www.ramforumz.com/index.php

It's the one I use to move around and the one I have saved.

Glad to see that you wound up on the Z. There are different sections of the forum set up specific to the generations if you need help in the future. It's also a great place to just hang around. General Discussions and I've heard of an "off Topic" section.

Not to forget the vendors that can help with any modifications you might like to personalize your vehicle.

Take some time and brows the site, maybe even make a few friends!

Newbie how tos is always a good idea. It might help to familiarize yourself with how-to's on using the site and is a good reference tool for the future. One of the most underused aspects is reputation. It's used to say thanks to a member that may have helped, or pointed you in the right direction.

The little scales of justice in the upper-right hand corner of their reply has it. Just click on it and add to their reputation.

Also try to remember posting if you have an issue with your Ram and solve it. That also helps other members solve their issues.

Since you're new, why don't you put yourself on the map? http://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=156146 Click on Additions and add yourself.

Enjoy the site!
