Default SharaDon 545RFE part III

To recap I have had ongoing problems with my transmission which I have written about under two other threads. "SharaDon 545RFE transmission cooler needed" and then "SharaDon 545-RFE HELP!!!". The latest finding after dropping my truck off at University Dodge in Davie, FL was that the transmission pan was dented upward blocking the intake tube. The pan was taken off and straightened out and I eagerly awaited a phone call today to inform me that that was the whole problem. But alas, Murphy has struck again!!!!! I spoke to the service manager who advised me again that the transmission cooler flowed well and did not appear to have any blockages, the transmission fluid had no pieces in it and didn't appear burnt, the dent was fixed in the pan and reinstalled however...... it still wasn't working right! He said that when the truck was cold it drove like it had a 6000rpm stall converter in it and was giving a transmission fluid pressure reading of around 30psi. He said after 1 minutes of driving he could feel a clunk, the reading would be over 86psi and it felt like it was shifting good. He said he let it cool off and it would repeat this process for the first 1 minutes until it warmed up and the PSI increased. He said he believed this was caused by a pressure regulator valve sticking and guestimated the dealer's cost to fix this to be around $1600-1700. I contacted Denny at SharaDon Performance who said that it sounded like "leakdown" from the torque converter which sometimes happens when you have a high stall torque converter and let it sit for a few hours. He said if this was the problem it could be cured by starting the car and leaving it idle in N for 20-30 seconds before beginning to drive it. To make sure there was no breakdown in communication Denny agreed to get on the phone with me and the Service Manager from the dealership tomorrow and try and sort it all out to see if it does indead appear to be the torque converter or a sticking presssure regulator valve. Finger's again crossed, phone call coming up after 1pm tomorrow. As a side note, and to further prove Murphy is doing well, I was informed that the single 3" Magnaflow muffler and turn down connected to my America Racing Headers Y pipe just fell off while the Service Manager was test driving my truck and now resided in the bed!!!!!!

So far I'm trusting the service manager Mark Leslie at University Dodge in Davie, FL. He seems to know his stuff and drag races himself. I don't remember if my exhaust was welded or clamped on. I'm gonna assume clamped if it fell off already. I think I'm going to blame the big bad MDS system for creating a sonic frequency that knocks off exhaust. I heared by disbabling it you get 30mpg, can use 2nd prime on upshifts, run low 13's in the 1/4 and tow 15k pounds in overdrive at 70mph!

Ok after Mark explained everything that he saw the truck doing, Denny agreed to send me a solenoid pack. After it was installed along with some new filters I was told it worked but seemed like it needed to be tuned. I was also told that it did appear to have torque converter leak down after sitting a couple days. When I got it it had two codes stored that I deleted, I think they were P0934 & P0868. After clearing them they stayed off on the short trip home. The next time I drove the truck they came back. All the while the transmission felt funny. I power braked it and it only flashed to 2100rpm before settling back to 1900rpm even though it is supposed to have a 2800rpm stall converter. Took it on a 30 mile drive of easy city/hwy and it started to smoke. I shut it off and had codes P0218, P0934, P0868, P0732 & P0733 stored!!!! Mark is calling Denny at SharaDon performance and I'm waiting on an answer.

I've just about lost all hope with the SharaDon Performance transmission and am on the hunt for a different company that makes a performance 545-RFE anticipating that Mark is gonna call me back and say Denny doesn't have any more suggestions since Denny himself told me the solenoid pack was the last thing he could think of to try. Anyone know of a good transmission that will last behind my supercharged engine while drag racing?
