Default Magnaflow 18" Part# ? Whick one?

I have searched on here for both part numbers and have tried to do my research before asking but I am still unsure of which to order 12278 or 12288. I am going to swap out the Y pipe too. I know the 3" inlet from the Y my question is it 2-1/2" or 2-1/4" on the outlet of the muffler? Some of you guys are using the (12278) which is 2-1/4 and some are using (12288) 2-1/2. Both are roughly the same price just want to make sure I go with the right muffler. Thanks guys for the info.

From what I can find it looks either will work. Can someone verify?

the inlet is the same so it will work. outlet is personal preference. 2.5" dual outlets would be my choice.

Just get the muffler and have it welded in. You'll save money and it won't leak.
