Default exhaust help

i just bought a 2012 ram express and added a k&n cai and mufflex dod14m muffler kit (basically th 14" magnaflow) its nowhere near loud enough my 08 was 10x louder it sounds good but way tooquiet so my question is will a y pipe and high flow cat do anything to make it louder i was told to stay away from flowmaster (chambered) i was thing of getting the muffler delete from mufflex any suggestions????

Man you must've had a straight pipe exhaust on your older Ram bud. The 14 is pretty aggressive already. Are you still running the resonators on the rear? Those can quiet or soften the deep tone your looking for. Hey man, you could piece together your own muffler delete by just adding a y-pipe to where your mufflex goes.

^ What this guy said. Resonators after a aftermarket muffler is thrown on tend to decrease sound a bit. Makes it a bit more tame. Now some good Cherry Bomb Extremes (; Pretty much strait piped loud just you get a bit of a tone with them. As it is just a tinny little muffler with one baffle to defuise the air into a nice sound. Some people don't like them, but I have seen them being run over by full sized trucks and standing up. They are pretty thick little things. Might want to go that route. I love mine! After I threw my custom TDs on I went back a couple weeks later and got the resonators deleted and man what a difference for sure. It had a loud punch to it when hitting it instead of a low growl.

My tip is to make sure you always turn MDS off after removing your resonators or it'll sound like a fart canned out fiat...

I have videos of before and after the resonators being cut off if you would like to hear them (:

i had an 18 inch magnaflow, nice sound, too quiet from. Swapped it for an 18 inch dual out glasspack and i am much happier.
